language designed to arouse Nationalistic ferver, is Orwellian. Sinister and has a definite purpose.

Aside from general creepiness, those references tend to accompany fear mongering and justifications for ignoring our rights.

and maybe it's just me, but I hear an echo of of "Heimat" which I always associate with "Lebensraum" and Germany in the 30's.

Yea, it is just another element of our grand empire, and we better show proper respect to the homeland if we know what's good for us.

The increasingly militarizing of our police is the same deal. I wouldn't be surprised to see them start standing on street corners in full gear at some point, and then we will know we are truly in a full blown police state, and you better watch what you say, and watch what you do, citizen!

It seemed to be a smart show at first with an African American woman as President, but it seems to be delivering the same old neo-con, chicken-hawk message that you have to fight them over there so you don't have to fight them here.

The constant homeland references really became over the top.
