When Democrats were looking for evidence of a Republican war on women, they overlooked Exhibit A Sarah Palin.
This isnt to say that Palin was part of the war on women, though many Democrats would say so. Rather, she was one of the wars most conspicuous victims fragged, you might say by her own troops.
And yet, shes back again. And yet again shes assuming her default position of presidential tease. Yes, shes seriously interested in running for president. As evidence, she gave an utterly befuddling speech this past weekend in Iowa, where other likely candidates were gathered.
This time, Palins critics include Republicans. What the heck was she talking about, they wondered. What has happened to Palin, they ask?

It only means that she wasnt ready. She needed to do what former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has done. Recognizing his mistakes in 2012, Perry has spent the past two years meeting with conservative scholars for briefings on economics, health care, budgets, tax policy and so on.<snip>

(14,537 posts)you might ask. LOLOLOL. On a recent visit to SC he addressed the who's who of the republican party. The results are as funny as Palin's
(His) mic broke after one minute, another attendee said. He continued to speak for thirty-nine minutes more. The crowd disengaged after about five minutes. People were going to the bar as he spoke, talking in the buffet line, texting on their phones walking out. It was a Texas goat rodeo with Perry playing the boring clown only instead of a red nose he sported those geeky glasses.
This guy is toast, one S.C. Representative told FITS.
What did those who actually heard Perrys comments thinK?
Unimpressive, a lobbyist who attended added, saying the candidate was canned.
Cliché after cliché, one elected official in attendance told us.

(39,377 posts)Grifter Palin's shamelessness was the only thing that was ever remotely "breathtaking" about her.

(3,697 posts)but she is wrong that Palin's further fall is the Repub party's fault. Palin had no interest in learning and improving her skill set after 2008 once she knew she could start laughing her way to the bank without doing any real work. Fox and reality TV offered her opportunities far beyond anything a life in politics could provide. Where else could a family of morons reap such financial success except as reality TV stars. No need for any of the children to even consider college when they could go through life on Palin's coat tails.
I have seen quite a few articles recently from conservatives finally admitting Palin is now a failure but I hadn't seen this one. Few though admit that she was a train wreck even in 2008 though. Now that she has lost the support of even the idiots over at Fox she may be forced to leave the national republican stage or at least have no influence except in the most rabid of right wing circles.

Neither position helps the GOP, let alone the other putative candidates' positions.
They are all from the same clown car. And the USA is a Christian nation... Right?
I am sick and tired of these church people in the GOP.
Religion and politics is, and always shall be, an utterly toxic mix. I leave it to George Carlin to break religion down, especially the GOP's totally lunatic embracing of fundamentalist Christianity.
Joe bless you all, my good friends.

(113,518 posts)KP, you are an idiot, defending an idiot. NO amount of preparation, coaching, learning, etc., could have turned the grifter into anything other than the clueless, ignorant, arrogant mess she is.
