Mitt just said that he won't run...

First off, I'm not sure if I believe him. But we'll just have to wait and see about that, right?

But second, and more importantly, perhaps this will mark the point where he'll just simply shut the fuck up and stop sounding as if he IS running. He's been really embarrassing himself these last few weeks.

That is, if he's actually capable of embarrassment like any other normal human being.

Why would fat cats line up to back a Romney candidacy, though?

First, Mitt lost a primary to McCain, for pity sake, who was such old news (NOT an age reference) by 2008 and then Mitt lost a general in 2012. Because you're not really a loser until you're a three-time loser?

He can't release his taxes, either. Even if he didn't do anything illegal, he didn't pay ANY takes for 10 years. He can't release that and still have any shot at running for president.

person, including being for civil rights before that position had a lot of political upside. (That time Mitt imagined he had marched with MLK, Jr., his Dad really had.) Mitt wanted it, but didn't get it. So, it goes to another generation to vindicate the Presidential ambitions of the Romneys?

I don't think Mitt could have beaten Jeb, even without the tax issue. The religious right has never been entirely comfortable with Mormons or with Mitt's fake liberal past. Also, Mitt is so awkard in every way as a person. The way he carries himself, that semi-bizarre walk, the things he says to people when unscripted. And he could never live down that video. Too bad. He would have been easier to beat than Jeb.

Fri Jan 30, 2015, 01:44 PM

He vetoed at the rate of 300 bills a year, average. And they overrode most. It was relatively hostile to him, too.

He was a lousy Governor anyway. It was pretty clear he ran only so he could get an elected office in a blue state under his belt before declaring for the Presidency. To that end, he left the state house often to make himself known to Republican groups. While with them, the guy who was supposed to be the state's being booster dissed us until our newpapers finally called him it out for it.

And, when part of a Big Dig tunnel fell and killed a woman, the people he chose to explain the issue to him were the same people who had built it, who happened to be donors of his.

But I am not sure you can blame the entire state economy on him, I am sorry to say.
