(1,850 posts)How horrible that we live in a world where someone's forgotten lunch bag (or whatever) requires such a response.

ATLANTA -- Authorities closed Interstate 75/85 and 14th Street to investigate a suspicious package Monday afternoon.
Traffic was halted on both northbound and southbound lanes of the Downtown Connector, and also on the east and west lanes of 14th Street, just before 2 p.m.
Atlanta police say that what appeared to be a cylindrical object of some type was found taped to the outside of the 14th Street Bridge -- on the south side of the bridge over the northbound lanes.

(12,017 posts)or i just might have missed it. based on reports by a worker in the area there was a note that said, "Slow motion video. Do not remove until Spring" on the 'device'. It kind of makes since as there is a school for video production very nearby. Perhaps someone should have alerted the authorities that they were going to be making a movie over the downtown connector!

(12,730 posts)They didn't know what it was, but int he article I posted it was determined to be non-explosive. It may've been a prank but if anyone wants to create havoc all they have to do is tape a suspicious object to a bridge or throw a package on the W.H. lawn. It doesn't have to be anything dangerous.
