A shot in the arm is worth....
frankly, a life!
I just wanted to share my perspective on immunology/vaccination: I was born in a German hospital in 1957 when the nation was still recovering from World War II. Not all hospitals were totally sanitary. As a result I got the measles and I was one of those one out of a thousand in which the measles wound up being encephalitis. I spent the first six months of my life in a hospital. I have struggled all my life as a result of this. My vision is poor and I don't have good equilibrium. In addition the encephalitis which was a result of the measles the disease damaged my nervous system slightly. I would up being hyper and in the days before an adhd diagnosis, this was not well received in the German Catholic system of which I was a part of. Even into adulthood, I still have problems. Now I know of ways and mechanisms to cope with it, also my hyper activity as I get older has started to finally work to my advantage. But the result of not having a vaccine (it wasn't available yet) has wreaked havoc upon my life.
Also, my mother had polio as a child. I remember growing up many times watching her limp, looking at the deformed foot that she had and living with her in her compromised state. She just was not a well person and died when I was 16 years old at the age of 40.
I also had the chicken pox at 23 years of age and felt like I was gonna die. End result folks:
VACCINATE YOUR KIDS!!! It takes so little effort, but to not vaccinate your child, can change yours, and your child's life in a heart beat. To me take it from personal experience...do it!
