40 percent of likely Iowa GOP caucus voters say Beyonce is ‘mental poison’

Will there ever be a moment when Mike Huckabee crosses paths with Jay-Z and Beyoncé in person? One can hope. Until then, we have to settle for Huckabee soundbites on Beyoncé and polls that pit them against one another.

The Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics poll has done just such a thing, which lets us plumb the inner recesses of Iowa caucus-goers on the hot topic of how they feel about Beyoncé vis-a-vis Huckabee.

You, of course, will remember that Huckabee dared to capture the attention of the Beygency by knocking Bey and Jay for their Grammy performance. It was something about Jay-Z effectively being Beyoncé's pimp (even though, like we said, Beyoncé upgraded Jay, and it was all retro and absurd to suggest otherwise). Then Huckabee said the Obamas were bad parents because they let their daughters listen to her music.

And the pollsters in Iowa brought this all up with caucus-goers in a new poll that I love.

Here's the question -- which is a bit leading, but still:

There are a lot of SIGNS that these fools don't listen to the RADIO if they did they would have SWEET DREAMS rather than beautiful nightmares. It's scary that these DIVA could end up RUN THE WORLD, RING THE ALARM! I give Hillary the GREEN LIGHT even with her FLAWS AND ALL, she can GET ME BODIED.

Boom. Not an endorsement of Clinton (it just worked).

...don't listen to the dreck in the first place, and let those who for some godforsaken reason choose to inflict it upon themselves suffer willingly.

Such celebs being mental poison is a bit of a contradiction in terms.

are scared to the point of impotence by an empowered woman, especially one of African heritage? And 100% of Iowan wives don't trust their mates to not be secretly attracted to her?

Conservatism means you can be afraid and hate without just cause.

That said, all of them, of the vastly-overcompensated-pop-(lackof)culture-ilk are proof that W. C. Fields' most famous quotation was obviously no exaggeration.
