Push Poll... Which priority should be the new GOP maj. in the senate priority?

Got off the phone before the inevitable fundraising plea (all about Newt).

Our presidential primarieas aren't until May of 2016. This is going to be such a long cycle.

My guess is eithr Newt is fundraising (he's a bit of an opportunitist) under the guise of support for the GOP... or National players are going to try to scare the base for the next 13 months in order to not have to spend a great deal of money in traditional red states that went puruple in 2008.

Anyone else starting to get these calls? If so - where else are they targetting?

2. Funny, his last campaign was so bad... and seemed transparently like a publicity stunt

that as I pondered the "why" behind the call... the one thing I did not consider - until you posted it - was that he might be attempting to lay ground work for another campaign.

Interesting thought. I, too, think he would be easy to beat.

5. automated call, I take it???

I am such a grinch when it comes to calls like that, automated or not, since they all are trick questions which lead to only one answer..
kinda like when we were kids and played the "would you rather die by drowning in a vat of chocolate or falling from a cotton candy cloud"?

The phone has the ringer off and the answering machine on..there is NOTHING important enough to make me race to a ringing phone anymore.

6. Automated Newt followed by live person "pollster"

I told the pollster that we were not her intended audience. That we rather supported Obamacare, and while we were concerned about international relations - our approaches would not likely be in line with her intended audience. She agreed, and politely offered me a "blessed day".

This is our first 2016 call. Wonder where they bought the list they were using. They paid too much for it - if we were on it. lol

The poll is not going to be "successful" unless whoever they call is sympathetic to Republican viewpoint.

Don't see why they bother...they can just as easily make up their own results.

Still leaning on period scare calls to keep the "base" riled up and keep the mostly red, but briefly purple state likely red in 2016 (to save money - and avoid spending campaign funds in the state.) Newt's involvement - my guess - is just opportunistic. He'll do the bidding, for a fee...

Just wondering if folks in other red areas were getting any similar calls.
