John Boeher On ‘War On Women’: ‘Give Me A Break’

House Speaker John Boehner channelled his inner John Stossell Friday and cried on the House floor when he sounded off on Democratic rhetoric pointing to the House GOP’s legislative agenda and finding a “war on women.”

“And now, now we are going to have a fight over women’s health,” Boehner said through tears. “Give me a break. This is the latest plank in the so-called war on women. Entirely created, entirely created by my colleagues across the aisle for political gain.”

If the notion to the American public that Republicans are anti-female wasn't frightening and devastating to them they wouldn't keep squawking about it.

Will the Democrats press this advantage, or will they let the Republicans off the hook because Boehner has a sad? I'm not overlooking what will almost inevitably happen, that the popular media will try to paint the Democrats as real meanies for calling the Republicans out (GOP misogyny will get a pass, as usual). Can the Democrats ignore the Beltway criticism and stick to doing what's right?

There are indeed differences between the parties, and this is supposed to be one of them. Don't apologize, Democrats, for treating women as fully participating citizens in our society.

He's crying because he's working today, instead of playing golf in Florida.

she would be considered too emotional and unfit to serve. It just blows my mind that his tears are tolerated. I can't imagine the ridicule that Nancy Pelosi would have endured had she behaved in this manner.
