Brian Williams

I wish that his critics (Brian Selzer, CNN, for one) would attack our real enemies with the ferociousness he is receiving from the media.

Starting wars under false pretenses, false charities and lying politicians are okay because there is no competition amongst reporters covering these real enemies of the people. They allow transgressions to happen without any criticism to ensure that these gangsters will appear on their tv programs.

Not saying what Brian did was perfectly okay, but he didn't start the Iraqi war, had nothing to do with establishing and empowering ISIS. The whole thing should be put into perspective, he should apologize and move on.

And Brian Seltzer, the pit bull, should be called off his attack on a reporter that it looks like he is jealous of (preposition, blah, I know).

1. I think the irony is overwhelming.

Think of all the lies told about Iraq and the only person punished for lying about Iraq is Brian Williams.

being on a bird that took hostile ground fire.

7. Brian Williams is an empty, pretty face, hired to do the news because of his smile.

That he probably lies about all kinds of things wont surprise me.

Whatever he deserves for that, fine.

The lying we should care about in the big picture is the lies that the W admin knew they were telling especially AFTER "curveball" was found out to be lying about everything.

9. That you agree about the curveball and W comment gives me hope...hope that while we can

viciously and argumentatively disagree on some stuff, we can agree on some really important stuff.

Because the patriot who supports the troops is the one who SCREAMS

"Dont send our troops in to fight unless there is absolutely no other option"

And the Iraq thing was so far from no other option that it is maddening when I think about those chickenshit chickenhawks sending other peoples kids into that insanity.

When I think about the suicide rate of these veterans and a Repub Senator who went OUT OF HIS WAY to prevent them from getting help.

When I think of those 350 nights and days when I stared out the front window of my home praying to all hell and back that the late model sedan wouldnt pull up and two uniformed persons wouldnt get out and walk to the door, and god forbid what if they came when my wife was at work, I mean I love him like a son but he is my step-son, how would I tell my wife her AMAZING son was now DEAD?

Never had to, thank god. But the W admin owes him and everybody else who went and the family members whose lives where hell during those deployments.

Personally I think they owe me about a million dollars for my pain and suffering and I never left home, imagine what I think they owe the veterans.

And on LIES

10. Do you deny the larger lies, or are you just upset that Brian embellished his RW cred?

Really, what motivates you more?

And Brian did more than embellish, he lied about being in that flight of birds that was fired on.

http://money.cnn.com/2015/02/06/media/stelter-iraq-pilots/

"Simeone and Kelly said only two helicopters were in their group, from Company B of the 159th Aviation. They said Krell was piloting the first helicopter. Simeone and Kelly were pilots on the second Chinook, and Miller was in their crew."

The paper continued: "All three said Williams was riding with them, not with Krell. They all said neither bird took fire at any time that day."

The pilot I interviewed on Thursday about Brian Williams is no longer standing by his story.

That pilot, Rich Krell, told me he was flying the helicopter Williams was on in Iraq -- an account now contradicted by several other soldiers.

On Friday morning, Krell told me that "the information I gave you was true based on my memories, but at this point I am questioning my memories."

Here's more on why they landed.

http://pagesix.com/2015/02/05/pilot-of-brian-williams-flight-all-that-hit-us-was-dust/

Pilot of Brian Williams’ flight: All that hit us was dust

I was the pilot in command of the flight that carried Brian Williams into Iraq in March 2003.
The mission was to deliver bridges to the Objective Rams region in order to support our ground-force advancement. We were briefed that we would be operating forward of the line of troops and that the objective was unsecure.

We were a flight of two, and I was the rear aircraft. Our flight to Objective Rams was uneventful, with the exception of a desert dust storm that caused deteriorating conditions not suitable for flight.

We determined that we would not make it back to Kuwait as planned. When we arrived at Objective Rams, we found a US armor unit on the objective. There was also a CH-47 from the “Big Windy” unit out of Germany.

The CH-47 was already shut down, and the entire crew was no longer at the aircraft. We dropped off the bridges and landed next to the parked CH-47 and the Bradley Fighting Vehicles due to the weather.

12. The larger lies are nearly universal at that level, which is why it seems a bit unbalanced to

selectively go after the little ones in this case.

13. While I mostly agree with you, and IMO, Bush and his whole cabal

should be tried for war crimes, or crimes against humanity, Brian Williams is supposed to be a trusted newsman and for him to lie about this makes me wonder what else he's lied about.

14. I never fully trusted Williams or any network anchor. But, he seemed less RW in recent years

than the others, as did NBC News, in general. So, it seems somewhat ironic and a bit sad to see him being vilified by the Left while the MSNBC evening lineup is being dismembered.

I have concluded this is part of a bigger shakeup at the Comcast-NBC corporate network, and another neo-McCarthyite effort to purge the media.
