all the fuss over 50 Shades, got me remembering my first plunge into literary erotica. 1956 saw the publication of Peyton Place with a sell-out first run which turned into a 56 week run on the New York Times as America's best seller. Later the book was the basis for a movie and a short-lived TV series. Ah, the smut in that book was indeed inspiring to a young teenage buck.
