Spanish language channel, Mondo FOX, coming in June.

It would help us as a country to try and encourage (and provide, say, free cable tv and Internet learning resources) people in the U.S. to pick up a little Spanish, Chinese, Russian. Might help us get along a little bette, even prove economically beneficial.

Could do it with Skype, or a free phone app from a university or two, though you don't want to limit it to people who have to afford 50 or 100 a month for a phone w/internet.

Maybe the F.C.C. requirement for public service programming could be expanded.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
