The only thing I posted that mysteriously disappeared was a post supportive of protests in Egypt.

It is true that there are grunt-worker facebook employees, in places like India, who delete posts they think are inappropriate.

I have read that "inappropriate" usually means penis photos, bare boobs, snuff videos, etc. Political stuff is far less likely to be deleted, I think.

But why did just my post about Egypt get removed, when so many other people posted freely about how glad they were for the Egyptian people standing up for themselves..? No idea, really. I suppose it's up to the individual employee to delete according to their whim.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
