Delay provides some freedom from being pinned down on petty issues write large by the needs of media.

The earlier she announces....the sooner she must back away from working with PAC's, doing things the way she wants them done. Until she announces, she can work in this way.

Later, the candidates will complain about the PAC's, and all the spending! oh my....

If people will pay $300K to listen to her...want is your problem? Can any Republican command that figure? Can Glen Greenwald? Noam Chomsky? Ralph Nader? Jeb Bush? Just maybe the common folk and the smart people think her ideas are worth listening to. (sorry Willy, tick induced).

and when someone doesn't start too early, people start complaining.

Let's enjoy the GOP shooting themselves in the foot nightly. Plenty of time until it really needs to start.

Actually, it is smart for her campaign, since they can work at behind the scene shoring up support (one of their strengths) and fundraising.

Of course, her plans could be disrupted by a long shot (O'Malley or someone else) jumping in early and catching some attention.

The clown car of kochthuglicans are going to get even more crazy.

Hillary should enjoy her life and new grandchild then offer herself up to the presidential campaign vultures. Then She could offer up an alternative reality of calmness and compassion while the republican clown car drives off the rails to see who can out right wing hateful crazy shit.

If other democratic candidates can muster up support in the meantime, it might be a bit helpful to them. On the other hand, some voters might hesitate to throw their support to another candidate, if they're waiting for her to announce.

In all honesty, I don't think it will affect Hillary's chances either way. The widespread assumption that she will run is almost as if she has announced.

The offensive against Isis is penciled in for the spring.

It's better for her to take a backseat and see how things play out rather than get mixed up in the middle of it all. That wouldn't help her or the Democrats.
