Europe ‘feels like Nazi Germany,’ says Madonna

Rising intolerance and anti-Semitism have reached the point when “it feels like Nazi Germany,” pop icon Madonna said, adding that France, in particular, no longer encourages diversity and freedom.

"We're living in crazy times. It feels like Nazi Germany," Madonna said in an interview to Europe 1 radio, adding that the situation in Europe is “scary.”

The 56-year-old singer also pointed that France has totally lost its tradition of welcoming diversity and honoring freedom, saying that "anti-Semitism is at an all-time high" in the country.

"It [France] was a country that embraced everyone and encouraged freedom in every way, shape or form – artistic expression of freedom… Now that's completely gone.”

but wonder if Europeans are being fed the same style propaganda as we are here. I mean, Rupert Murdoch has all but bought up most of the popular media in England (as he and his fellow Libertarians have done in the U.S.) and it's just a tiny effort and pretty cost-effective to infiltrate and buy up the popular media in the smaller countries in Europe.

CEOs in Europe look to "that shining city on the hill", the United States, and think, "Hey! It's hugely profitable for CEOs there, and it's working fabulously there, so why not do it here, as well?"

I haven't done any real research to back up my theory, but I can't help but think that the information citizens of Europe are getting isn't being skewed in some way because Europeans are generally very liberal...but there's a noticeable change in demeanor and political view happening that's beginning to alarm me.

Shoah is a word that I'm conversant with for instance and I know it refers to an extended process not a single example of maximum savagery.

France has yet to experience a Kristallnacht in the modern era to the best of my knowledge.

insult to the actual victims of Nazi Germany.

Anti-semitism in France is NOT at an "all-time high". Google the 'Dreyfus Affair' to get a sense of when it was worse.

What a moron she is.

Le Pen, RT?

France’s cash-strapped far right turns to Russian lender

The French far right’s cosiness with Vladimir Putin’s Russia is back in the spotlight as Marine Le Pen’s party confirms it borrowed nine million euros from a Russian lender, saying “no one else will give us a cent”.

France’s far-right National Front (FN) said Sunday it had borrowed the money from Moscow-based First Czech Russian Bank (FRCB), confirming a report by the investigative news website Mediapart.

The party treasurer Wallerand de Saint-Just told France Info radio a deal was signed with the Russian lender in September.

Saint-Just said the party had received a first installment of two million euros.

I can't find that news item on RT, oddly enough.

There HAS been rising intolerance in Europe.

I don't see how anyone can dispute that.

USA. I am very aware that hatred and economic woes led to WWII but I do not think we have reached that level yet. Or a least I hope not.

What I am afraid of is where this could all lead us to. Born in 1941 - been there once do not want to do it over.
