he will tell me when it is time to go in the basement.

Our family room is half under/half over and that is where I am. The actual basement door is just but a few steps away

I am hoping it is nothing major.

My PC and office is in the basement, or "The Dungeon," as my wife calls it. So, when the sirens go off, I have to go upstairs to see what's going on. Makes no sense, does it?

I wouldn't be too worried. The radar is barely showing a severe thunderstorm. There was a report of a tornado on the ground, however, there is no hook echo on the radar. It is probably barely an EF1.
Be safe, but let's not overreact or anything.
Take care.

I thought typing would cut down on the need for such subtle abbreviations, but apparently that's what I get for thinking.
