(100,060 posts)We got to follow the paper trail here.
But once again, Bernie is definitely right.

(75,480 posts)I think our gov. could put pressure on the Saudi Gov. to put pressure on those donors to stop it. We can threaten to embargo their oil exports to us if they don't. If ISIS funding dries up, it will pretty much be the end of them.

(23,083 posts)There's also the fact that the Saudis royalty were funding 2 of the 9/11 terrorists. Another fact is prior to 9/11 they complained to Shrub about the no-fly list containing a lot of Saudi Arabian citizens names and Shrub exempted ALL Saudi Arabian citizens from being stopped and several of the terrorists got into the country this way even though they were on the watch list.
I'm sure they are funding ISIS and totally agree with Bernie that they should be the ones with "boots on the ground", not us.

(29,322 posts)they are #2 behind Tunisians and Qatar was quick to get financially involved in Tunisia setting up charities which charity fronts is an old trick from the Bosnian wars to provide funding for Al-Qaeda.

(27,247 posts)The BBC had an article a couple of weeks after the attack which stated that several of those hijacking suspects were still alive.

(27,247 posts)Witnesses said they heard a second plane chasing after the United flight, which was the supposedly the only flight where the passengers had mounted an attempted to take back control of the plane from the hijackers. And then Cheney said he would have ordered a shoot-down of the plane *if he had been in control*. Just who was in control? It certainly wasn't bu$h, who was too engrossed in a story about a pet goat to care about what was happening.

(3,919 posts)and, yes, definitely reading between the lines. bernie knows how to set up the dominoes. encouraging our people to put pressure on our government to put pressure on the saudis to put pressure on the donors...just may work.

(96 posts)The "royal' Saud family are terrorists and should be the targets of U.S. drones but they aren't because they are co-terrorists with the U.S. government.
I am reading, with interest, the book called "The Brothers" that covers the years of the Dulles brothers; one at State and the other at the CIA and how their perverted minds worked in "protecting" America.
They were terrorists then and should be treated accordingly. We need to change the name of Dulles International to something like Che Rivera Airport.

(29,322 posts)Trust me you don't want them involved and with the beheadings, hisbah, & human rights violations what is the difference? Read about the 1st Saudi State, Egypt-Wahabbi war, & Wahabbism in general -- they are the original ISIS.
They may have the 4th largest military defense budget but what exactly are they spending it on? Also the use & abuse migrant labor, they aren't good guys here.
On edit -- If US took the lead, migrant workers would be doing all the work. Trust me, I was a US troop deployed, migrant labor human trafficking & slave labor by KBR, Halliburton, etc was par for the course. Contractors in general had far more responsibilities including using Third-Country Nationals to guard Baghdad International Airport with a rifle & a bulletproof vest.

(13,324 posts)The Saudis and ISIS, of course, both fall into the latter category.
