Obama Versus Romney: The President Says Union Values Have Made This Country Great While Romney Is Hostile To Labor

What does Mitt Romney really believe and how does that contrast with President Obama? The AFL-CIO has released a video that includes comments from both. While Romney says on his campaign web site he supports letting workers freely decide whether or not to join unions he makes it pretty clear where he stands on that basic worker right that the United Nations considers a universal human right.
[Mitt Romney]: Im concerned when I watch a president cow-tow to the union bosses by putting in place those union stooges at the NLRB. Ive taken on union bosses before. Im happy to take em on again.
Contrast that with President Obamas comments on unions and values American workers hold dear.
[President Barack Obama]: The values at the core of the union movement those dont change. Those are the values that have made this country great. So when I hear some of these folks tryin to take collective bargaining rights away, trying to pass so called right to work laws for private sector workers that really mean the right to work for less and less and less when I hear some of this talk I know this is not about economics, this is about politics. I keep on hearin these same folks talk about values all the time. You want to talk about values? Hard work thats a value. Lookin out for one another, thats a value. The idea that were all in it together and Im my brothers keeper and sisters keeper, thats a value!
