The GOP has been trying to portray Dems as weak on defense for decades with great success

All that expended energy for naught

These recent developments have destroyed that meme.

This was an issue they always had the upper hand on. They could always fall back on that issue and win.

No more of that.

That is why they have gone into panic mode.

Notice some of the media who we thought were on our side who have come out in support of the GOP complaining about Obama using the defense issue recently? They have exposed themselves as the GOP water carriers they are.

This has really been a fine week so far for us Democrats.

We hit a sore spot and the GOP is squealing like little piggies. The trick is while we have them hurting we need to hit them with some more truth. Truth really hurts them.

See LBJ for the precedent and what happens then.

I must be missing the precedent you are referring to here.

And I take him at his word on this.

I don't recall LBJ setting any pull out dates during his term.

So your precedent theory seems really thin on evidence.

Or, until Obama racks up enough "tough on terra'" creds to win this election.

Or, is there another reason?

And, like Johnson, he escalated the war in a fruitless effort to make it look like it could be won. And, he extended it into Pakistan with drones and cross border raids.

Ring a bell yet?

Everyone's feeling so good about stuff, and here you are bringing up these inconvenient facts. Just let everyone pretend that for once we've won something, and that it was worth whatever it cost to win. Do you REALLY need all those Articles and Amendments?
