.... and those computers handled the RNC, Bush/Cheney 04, and Karl Rove and
company's private email accounts that were not archived as required by law.
On election day 2004 Connell sent the rest of the I.T. staff at the Sec. of State's
office in Ohio home at 7:00 PM because he said he could "take care of things."
By 2008 Mr. Connell had started to speak about what he knew and did but he
ended up dead when his small plane crashed in Dec. 2008.

BTW Trust me, we were robbed in 2004 ..... and I was in the belly of the beast in OH ..... I saw
the shit w/my own eyes and I heard it w/my own ears.
On election day 2004 around 6:00 PM Karen Hughes came and told W Bush he had lost because
of the returns and exit polls but W just sat back and laughed .... he knew the fix was in too.
I know this stuff might seem like nut ball tin foil hat stuff but it is all true.

(90,788 posts)We tried to tell Kerry in advance. We tried to alert the DNC. Dear gods we tried. I can't even talk about it now, because I am afraid I will look crazy, and what is more I will feel as crazy as I did then.
In my opinion the only hope our democracy has at all is for us to have a string of Democratic presidents and their subsequent federal judicial / SCOTUS appointments. No way in hell could Obama clean up that mess in just 8 years.

(42,641 posts)we must look forward. Sure the Bush administration was guilty of war crimes, crimes against International Law and unconstitutional behavior, but what about Benghazi?

(19,537 posts)But the way so many dismiss this here, they make it sound like we should just LOVE that Hillary Clinton was doing the PROPER thing by her in effect dismissing a government solution for mail as being ineffective and that we should love that she was intelligent enough to use a privatized email solution again? Is that really a Democratic Party solution that she should be proud of? Privatization of government officials' email and our government IT infrastructure? HUH?
I don't believe that there's any proof her wrongdoing, but without any other entities overseeing her private email server, HOW DO WE KNOW? Her doing what she did, even if she didn't do anything wrong on these servers, opens her up to this criticism that wouldn't happen if she'd stuck with government email solutions. If government email solutions are insecure, either to enemies of our country, or to other party operatives trying to do a "hit job" based on email content, then FIX these problems. Don't just work around it and make other problems happen too.
If Oregon's Governor Kitzhaber and his fiancee had used a privatized email solution for all of their mail, then he'd still be governor, since he wouldn't have taken the approach of trying to get emails deleted, that had people asking him to step down.
Yes, the Bush administration was in my book more guilty of email monkey business too. And it was the same outfit that provided a private email server for them that also provided a separate server to count Ohio's votes that likely gave Bush the 2000 election too over Kerry.
That doesn't mean what Clinton was doing was the proper solution, and something that shows "good judgement" when trying to judge what kind of president she would be. For someone wanting that position, it's not enough to show that she's not doing anything wrong with private email, but she should made an issue of why government run email was flawed so she felt that she couldn't use it, so government email processes could be fixed to work for everyone and maintain accountability of our government officials too. Then I'd see the kind of leadership I wanted who would make sure that government works properly to serve us, which the Republicans don't want happening.

(10,044 posts)I love your first paragraph:
"use a privatized email solution again? Is that really a Democratic Party solution that she should be proud of? Privatization of government officials' email and our government IT infrastructure? HUH? "
