This Women who I know from shooting beauty pageant photos of her daughter and who's husband is a CEO of a corporation posted on Facebook a little earlier asking if 99% of the protesters in Downtown Seattle knew what they were trying to accomplish. ...... So I posted the following reply back to her..
The protest have accomplished getting your attention. Do not blame Occupy Seattle they planned a day to march for workers rights, to end the war in Afghanistan, and to make aware of the fact the average American has not received an effective pay raise since 1979 while corporate executives salary's have increased by a rate of $425 to $1. I don't agree with executives getting bonuses and big pay checks when their company's bottom line is heading towards bankruptcy either, I worked in the airline industry and that was a common practice. People are working harder and longer and not getting ahead. If you can not acknowledge that then you may be a 1%er.
I just refreshed the page and she has unfriended me...... OH WELL.

(4,026 posts)I routinely post a qualifier to any new "FB friends" warning them in advance that I am a far left atheist socialist (even though I do post on DU - not added in my qualifier) who says what I think and that I will at some point almost certainly say something that offends them and that if they are uncomfortable with that they should go ahead and unfriend me right away. I further assure them that I won't take it personally if they do. Strangely enough, none have, even though a number of them are Republicans and/or Christians. It puzzles me why they stick around. I guess some people have a thing for masochism.

(2,933 posts)You weren't even remotely rude. I think this is more about her conscience bothering her - even if she's not ready to admit it to herself - than about you.

(25,183 posts)Why would a woman who would put her daughter through the meat market environment of these so-called beauty pageants be someone you would have befriended in the first place?
