that are standing in the kitchen saying "I don't like cabbage." "I don't like Red Beans." "I don't like rice."
Then you serve it, and they are the first in line to eat as much of it as they possibly can because they weren't available to make it themselves, only available to gripe about what is for dinner.
Not to brag on my own cooking, but I have Republican family members that exemplify this behavior. The people that despise cabbage can't seem to get enough of it (to the point where I was going back for seconds and it was all gone) when somebody else does it for them.

Cabbage is great, BTW, (especially stir-fried with some red-pepper oil, and equal smallish amounts of cider vinegar, soy sauce, sugar and a little cornstarch, or as homemade sauerkraut) as are corned beef, red beans and rice.

(38,187 posts)They are like the 9 year old boys in the woods in their clubhouse with a "no girls allowed" sign on the front of the door. They say, "Ewwww" at anything to do with women and then try to make life as hard as they can on women.
There are probably numerous other examples too. That's the main one I notice the most, though.
