...RECORD BREAKING HEAT EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND...

AN UNSEASONABLY HOT AIR MASS WILL DEVELOP THIS WEEKEND AS A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT BUILDS INTO THE AREA. WHILE TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOL INTO WEDNESDAY AS A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES OVER THE AREA...A WARMING TREND WILL ESTABLISH FOR LATE WEEK. TEMPERATURES WELL ABOVE SEASONAL NORMAL VALUES WILL BE PREVALENT BY FRIDAY. BY THE WEEKEND...RECORD BREAKING HEAT IS FORECAST WHEN THE CENTER OF THE HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE MOVES OVER
THE REGION. DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WILL RANGE FROM THE 80S TO LOWER 90S FOR THE COAST...TO THE MID 80S TO MID 90S FOR THE VALLEYS AND FOOTHILLS.

RESIDENTS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND PEOPLE PLANNING TO TRAVEL TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LATE THIS WEEK AND THIS WEEKEND ARE ADVISED TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS. KNOW THE SIGN OF HEAT STRESS. IF
PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THIS WEEKEND...IT IS ADVISED TO SCHEDULE THESE ACTIVITIES DURING THE COOLER PARTS OF THE DAY SUCH AS THE MORNING OR EVENING HOURS. IF ACTIVITIES CANNOT BE RESCHEDULED...AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND SEEK SHADED AREAS IF POSSIBLE. PERSONS PERFORMING STRENUOUS OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES...SUCH AS RUNNING...CYCLING...OR HEAVY GARDENING...SHOULD WEAR LIGHT-COLORED AND LIGHTWEIGHT CLOTHING AND STAY HYDRATED BY DRINKING
PLENTY OF NON-ALCOHOLIC FLUIDS SUCH AS WATER. NEVER...EVER...LEAVE CHILDREN...PETS...OR THE ELDERLY ALONE IN THE CAR. REMEMBER TO LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK. BEAT THE HEAT AND CHECK THE BACKSEAT.

for all the fish...!

We could use an alien visitation right about now. Of course, we'd 1st just try to blow them away with heavy arms, which would piss them off. ..

Anyway, maybe they could do better than we have.

and then dip down into the 70s early next week. I'm not sure it's cause for alarm (especially to those of us who have just endured the coldest February since 1875).

And it certainly is not helpful to awareness of climate change to focus on day-to-day temperature news. Especially when it involves a warm day in Southern California.
