Ask them this, why did George Bush give BILLIONS to Pakistan, calling them a great ally. Pakistan, the same nation that not only housed OBL in a tony district, one far removed from the caves of Afghanistan, but also, the one that actually did make Nukes?

(31,706 posts)They can't take one without the other. Wanna bet a bright shiny dime you'll NEVER hear Mittens utter the name George w. bush between now and November 6th...and doesn't want anyone else to either. The sticky wicket for Rmoney here is if he tries to coopt the National Security issue by dredging up bin Laden, he also brings up the Iraq mess and the 7 years of failure in getting bin Laden. His soundbite of not going in Pakistan to get him makes him look like an even bigger wuss.
Harping on this opens up the sleezy realtionships the boooosh regime had with Musharaf that led to billions of aid going down a rathole (and probably to the Taliban) and we still don't know his true role in the assisination of Benazir Bhutto. Open up that can of worms and a lot of stink flies all over the place and neither party really wants to go there.
The GOTB hasn't really wanted to take credit as much as deny it to President Obama. They credit the Seals with doing the heavy lifting but will never give this President the credit for making the tough call to go ahead with the raid...
