Missouri Republican Announces He's Gay, Opposes 'Don't Say Gay' Bill (Advocate.com)

With Missouri lawmakers considering their own version of the "Don't Say Gay" bill, one House Republican has come out against the bill — and come out as a gay man.

"I am not the first or last Republican to come out," said Rep. Zach Wyatt

...one would have to been comatose for several decades to miss the level of anti-gay bias of the republican party.

I just don't pretend to understand gay republicans.

To demean one's self to that condition seems to me to take a lot of self hate. A man whose parents named him "Zachary Wyatt" were probably counting on producing the ultimate stereotype of a MAN.

Missouri is very backward in some areas.

Has this guy been in a cave for the last 30 years? Repukes hate the gays. How someone who is gay can be a Repuke is another form of self hatred.

In Missouri, he would not been welcome in the MO Democratic caucus than the GOP.

The structure of the MO legislature provides an overrepresentation of the very conservative rural areas. Thus, the Democrats are similar to those rarely elected in MS or AK. They are mostly men who are anti-choice, anti- gay, PRO- gun and of course devoted Christians. They represent their districts accurately.

There have been lesbians who have been elected in two of the rare liberal districts.
For some reason, I think many men feel more threatened by gay men than women.

I would not be surprised of Dems were planning to out someone to gain an advantage. I hope he does before they do. I don't like the idea of using a person's sexual orientation against them.
