Blessings to Lee Ann and all who loved and were loved by Medical Admin.
His following post is one of the most important ones I've ever seen on DU
And I feel it deserves a read by EVERYONE.
Thank you Hay Rick for posting it in Lee Ann's thread.
I'm posting it on its own, because it MATTERS.

(17,162 posts)I want to live a life like him- I want to make a difference.
I have long been drawn to certain cultures and increasingly tired of this one
we are living in-
The wind of change beckons me, powered by this powerful post and some
REALLY intense dreams I have had lately.
Wanna come with?
The Friends of Pine Ridge and Re-member are two of my priorities at the moment.
As well as the Blackfoot rez.
I want my life to mean something too; and Medical Admin has taught me
that THAT is what matters, when all is said and done.

His stoicism and clear-mindedness is amazing. He's lived a full life, he's an inspiration, but he's right - he deserved more.

(17,162 posts)I just asked California Peggy if she would want to go with me to
a volunteer project right here in the good ole US- The Pine Ridge Reservation.
My daughter went a few years ago, and I want to go too.
You wanna come?

I think we should pull up a brigade of DUers to go in honor and memory of
Medical Admin. I think he would like that, given the difference he made in
other's lives.
In the past, I have organized clothing donations, art supplies for Leonard P. and other
local children's homes.
I want to go back into that calling- who's with me?

(18,184 posts)I don't have the opportunity right now but I'll certainly chip in a donation in the meantime.
MedicalAdmin certainly deserves a legacy, whether it's just individual actions we do in his memory or a group effort.

(20,805 posts)...my wife is fighting breast cancer right now, we have insurance, but we're still right on the edge....one rejected claim and it'll all go pear-shaped...
It should be this country's greatest shame and embarrassment that people die in this country every year, in their tens of thousands because they couldn't afford healthcare...
And the next person that says to me we don't need socialized medicine is going to get cock-punched...

It matters, but we must make it matter. Has anyone taken action to pass this story on to where it might have more impact?
