So the Arizona shooter was in a privitized prison for "marijuana possession"

And while incarcerated was recruited and radicalized by white supremacists.

This is exactly what's wrong with our drug laws and private, for profit prison system!

Police have not released photos of Giroux. He was described as 5 feet 7 inches, 190 pounds, and bald, with tattoos on his head, neck, and face. KPNX says Giroux was released from Arizona prison, where he was connected to white supremacy groups, in 2013. He was incarcerated for five years for a number of charges, including second degree burglary and marijuana possession, according to KPNX. Witnesses said Giroux was wearing a gray shirt and black pants or shorts at the time of the shooting.

the marijuana possession was just something the prosecutors tacked on the main charge of second degree burglary.

So your implied premise that relaxed drug laws regarding marijuana might have led to the shooting not taking place is flawed.

And yes, I am in favor of legalization and taxation of marijuana.

And well trained well compensated correctional staff.

Just warehouse them and make even bigger profits and executive bonuses when they repeat.

Nor have you provided any sort of proof that state or federal prisons don't have the same problems as the privatized ones

He joined a white supremicist gang because he was a piece of shit. He shot people because he was a total and complete scumbag.

This had fuck-all to do with weed.

Since 2000 AZ voters made drug possession a non-jailable crime. He may have been charged and even convicted of it but he was not doing any jail time because of that charge.

unlawfully entering or remaining in or on a residential structure with the intent of committing any theft or felony. This could apply to a home, apartment building, or any place where people reside. It is a Class 3 felony and carries 2 ½ to 7 years in prison.

It's a non-violent offense.

Maybe he was just broke and needed some weed or food or something. No reason to turn him into an incorrigible animal by locking him up with unsupervised skinhead white supremacists.

Just because some self-identified (and tatted) nazi got caught with a blunt once does not make his murder spree a "marijuana" issue.

Nice try.
