Check out the lovely person who was the shooter

Ready, a former Marine, was known for his work with the Minutemen, a border militia group that was armed and dressed in camouflage.
The Anti-Defamation League had identified Ready as a neo- Nazi, anti-immigration extremist and white supremacist, according to the organization's website.
Gilbert Police confirmed Wednesday that five people, including Ready, were dead after a shooting near Warner & Cooper Roads.
Of the five people, two were adult males, two were adult females and a 2-year-old girl was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The gunman is reportedly among the dead, in what could be a murder-suicide.

Authorities have not identified the other victims, but reached by phone Wednesday afternoon, Hugo Maderos said the victims were his ex-wife, Lisa; their daughter, Amber; Amber's boyfriend, whose name The Republic is withholding until his next of kin could be notified, and Amber's 18-month-old baby, Lilly.
Maderos, who lives in Tampa, Fla., said Ready lived at the home with his girlfriend, Lisa.

So, apparently Mr. Ready (the shooter) wasn't related to anyone that was shot.

Arizona has its share. I'm not denying that. But I get really really peeved when anyone claims any location has some kind of inherent magnet or matrix for the nutcases. They're everywhere. Apparently so is ignorance.

(53,661 posts)The Wikipedia page, matches my recollection. He had the support of a lot of right wing nuts across the USA, despite his Nazi interests. They said they supported him because he was 'doing the right thing' to protect the border:
Ready was politically active in anti-immigration causes. He also served as president of the Mesa Community College Republican Club and as a precinct committeeman for the Maricopa County Republicans. In 2006, he sought a seat on the city counsel for Mesa, Arizona. He put forth as his motto that "The Purity of the Aryan Race is the most precious resource Nature has to offer All of Humankind."[9]...
Ready was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in circa 2003 by politician Russell Pearce.[10]...

Like the woman from the northwest who gunned down a family with small children in AZ and got the death penalty, this guy was trouble.

(17,850 posts)The nominating process in Arizona is that the candidate has to collect X number of signatures from registered members of the party he's running on. Registered Democrats were onto him and got the word out not to sign nominating petitions.

(17,850 posts)The red (appropriately) county is Pinal, currently sheriffed by the smarmy racist pig Paul Babeu who is running for congress. The big county to the north and west is Maricopa, sheriffed by Joe Arpaio. PLEASE NOTE THAT MARICOPA COUNTY'S SOUTHWEST CORNER IS CLOSER TO THE MEXICAN BORDER THAN ANY PART OF PINAL COUNTY.
pinboy3niner
(53,339 posts)Because he's such a staunch ally of Joe Arpaio.
Your map shows why it was so funny to see Babeu giving a tour of the border fence in McCain's campaign ad, since his jurisdiction is not on the border.
Thanks, Tansy.

http://www.infowars.com/occupy-phoenix-with-ar-15s/Here's the video when he showed up at the Occupy event and the guy filming is likely a Paulie, makes Ready look quite sane. He doesn't look like a killer but with radical groups. Here he is in better days:
Unless he takes his link down, Alex Jones is being associated with a member of the Nazi party. He's had the head of the John Birch Society on his show. Which turns out to be a creation of the Koch family, so that makes Infowars = Disinformation?
But his followers are definitely NOT Democrats, but members of the Tea Party and support Ron Paul.
Apparently the Wiki page was edited by someone as a smear against Democrats like the one made about the man who shot Giffords, also not a Democrat. But it's been edited out again. Ready was GOP and a member of the Nazi Party.

(86 posts)Someone changed it and then someone changed it back. if you check the page history on the wikipedia page you will see it. When I looked at the page it said 'democrat.' when I checked 25 minutes later it was reverted back to what it said earlier.

Meanwhile a quickly edited back and forth edit on the Wikipedia thread said he was a Democrat and a member of Occupy. But he was not, he only went to an event in Phoenix. He was GOP and Nazi.
I posted the video of that event in my reply #23, and he is just there, and the guy filming him goes off the deep end before the video is finished.
Ready appears to be the more reasonable of the two. It's a Teabagger video, but despite the raving of the guy filming, it's pretty well done. By the end most of the people seem to be trying to get away from him.

(53,661 posts)These people are attaching themselves to Occupy. But that's the problem of open demonstrations. I'm pretty sure the raving Paulie screaming about 'The Government has declared War on You' and carrying on about silver and dollar bills was a follower of Paul and Alex Jones. This is their story. Ready appears quite normal in comparison and starts to look at the guy filming like he's crazy.
Blue_Tires
(55,445 posts)Especially since the Paulite message boards were NEVER about actually joining and helping local Occupy movements, but just seizing control and making them their own since OWS was getting all the national media coverage...They actually thought they could re-direct the collective anger of millions into an "Occupy the Federal Reserve/Vote for Ron Paul" movement...
Just reason #20,384 why I hate the Paulites with the heat of a thousand suns
freshwest
(53,661 posts)There are always some Paulite videos of them trying to guide the masses in NYC, but they don't seem to be getting much traction. Which means to their minds, that the evil unions and Democrats are there ruining everything. Occupy has had a hard time because of its inclusiveness, but that's also been a strength. Occupy has very definite goals that the 99% group only follows when it suits their agenda. They need coalition building but it's going to be a struggle. I wrote how we determined our allies in the past in the Occupy Undergrpund group, but we were more fragamented in some ways than Occupy.

(8,556 posts)Looks like this guy was a neo-Nazi who may have began to change his positions - or at least tried to appear so in order to gain profile. (17,850 posts)This is really starting to piss me off.
If you would please read the news articles: The media interviewed the ex-husband of the woman allegedly murdered by Ready. Lisa was Ready's girlfriend, not his wife or ex-wife. Amber was Lisa's daughter, and Lilly was Amber's daughter. Ready was not related to any of them.
Here's a link to the note I posted months ago about Ready's attemtp to run for Pinal County Sheriff as a Democrat. http://www.democraticunderground.com/1038145

(18,186 posts)and as usual, on the KTAR link, "voiceofreality" is blaming the shooting on liberals and the Democratic party.
Methinks voiceofreality is a meth addict. It's the only thing that might explain his or her blaming liberals for this heinous crime.
Every day, rightwingers amaze me with their delusions....
freshwest
(53,661 posts)I don't know what meth does to the thinking processes, but this is getting out of hand. And about him becoming a Mormon, we had a story about a man who killed his wife and kids and it was explained there is some kind of belief they have about taking the kids with them when they commit suicide. Maybe this is why the baby was killed. What a waste, all the way around.
Tsiyu
(18,186 posts)and unable to cope with reality. Much like meth abusers.
They blame everyone but themselves for their messed up minds.
I agree it's gotten out of hand, but really, all you can do is laugh at "voiceofreality."
Cuz reality is right here, and voiceofreality is waaaaaaaay out in space - cooking some more bathtub crank no doubt - and blaming the liberals for making him or her do it!
freshwest
(53,661 posts)IDK any or at least I don't think I do. I agree the right wing nuts always have someone to blame, they NEVER admit fault. Which is kind of wacky, that right there. No one's perfect. Maybe it's that fear thing they got going for them, they can't admit they did anything wrong, afraid they're gonna get .
Tsiyu
(18,186 posts)to blame everyone but themselves for the hell they create is a common feature of meth addicts.
Meth addicts are also irrationally violent and unstable, just like most Rightwingers, who are always talking about, fantasizing about and actually often acting out violent fantasies against anyone they perceive as "different."
The People of the Lie is a great book that explains the Rightwinger's internal fuckedupness quite well....
freshwest
(53,661 posts)There's a lot of energy there, twist it up and it'll explode eventually. The meth thing, thanks for the info, it does fit right wing patterns. Shoot first and let God sort it out, or whatever. All reptilian reflex, no reflection. And anyone who tries to slow them down or get in the way of completing what they want, always get hurt.

Article:
These uber right wing Tea Parties continue to be a magnet for extremists and crazy folk of all stripes. Though I wasn't able to make the recent hate-Obama rally that took place July 4 at the Arizona state Capitol, I have since discovered from info provided from some pals that none other than local neo-Nazi J.T. Ready spoke at the event.
More than one source has identified the Ready -- the Ernst Rohm of the East Valley -- as addressing the crowd. Indeed, you can see Ready lining up to take his turn at the mic in one of the Tea Party videos recently posted by BlessedONE333Returns on her YouTube account. Interestingly, she does not show Ready speaking, which may indicate that she knew who he was and wanted to keep his screen time to a minimum.

(26,355 posts)OK, so I'm slow on the uptake on this story.
When I first saw this story, I thought it was a random guy gone postal.
Then I heard it was a white supremacist/Minuteman type - not surprised at all.
Now, I find that it's JT Ready himself!
The deaths of the four other people are a tragedy, but I'll just say good fucking riddance to that neo-Nazi JT Ready. He was real special.
