Zoe Saldana Won't Boycott Dolce & Gabbana, is Super Casual About Hate
http://jezebel.com/zoe-saldana-wont-boycott-dolce-gabbana-is-super-casu-1692956906

Fashion designers Dolce and Gabbana made some awfully regressive comments about lifestyles, babies, and sexuality in a recent interview. "We oppose gay adoptions," was one such comment. Another, made by Dolce: "You are born to be a mother and a father. Or at least that's how it should be. I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented wombs, semen chosen from a catalog." Now lots of famous people including Madonna, Elton John, Andy Cohen and Ricky Martin are publicly boycotting the brand.

Not Zoe Saldana. The new mom is all "it's like look people, have a drink, relax, it's okay." Adding, "My husband is from Italy, and if I judged him based on the words that he misuses in our English language he wouldn't be here today."

E! asked Saldana if she was planning to participate in the boycott:

"No! Not at all, that would be the stupidest thing if it affected my fashion choice," Saldana told E! News exclusively at the 2015 GLAAD Media Awards when asked if she will boycott the famous brand. "People are allowed to their own opinion, however, I wouldn't have chosen to be so public about something that's such a personal thing."

She added, "Obviously it caused some sensitivity, but then again if you continue to follow the news, you see they all kinda hugged it out, so why are we making a big deal about it?"

I'm no marketing genius, but I'm willing to bet that notions of socially responsible spending are not usual among the relevant class of consumers of this brand.

Just a hunch, you know, because if you want to pay $500 for a pair of flip flops or a t-shirt, then "spending where it matters" is kind of beside the point to an absurd extent in the first place.

This exposes fashion as the truly hollow, amoral buisness it is.

By the way Zoe, nice to know after you got famous playing in socially conscious movies like Avatar, you can be so casual.

but to those that love fashion, that wteness will be replaces by a dryness that makes the Sahara look like the Amazon. Fashion has been the stanard bearer of tyrants for centuries.

not like Hugo Boss really made many apologies for designing the iconic Nazi SS uniform. When you look at their ads, they still show the same sort of rich aryan superman that could have been around in 1935.

the only reason that outfit is not as popular is because the Germans outright banned it. Now, if the EU goes...watch it come right back into fashion.

From the guy that played at Rush Limbaugh's wedding? Mr. John, when Madonna and Andy Cohen have morer moral fiber than you, you are in DEEP trouble.

And you do know that Dolce and Gabbana are gay right?

http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/inside-elton-john-dolce-gabbana-feud/story?id=29702355

The issue isn't about support of Gay rights, it's about IVF babies.

It's a minor feud that isn't going to gain any traction. Especially since Elton tends to ignore his own Mother who was reduced to hiring a Elton John Impersonator for her Birthday.

http://abcnewsradioonline.com/music-news/2015/3/20/elton-johns-mom-hires-ej-impersonator-to-sing-with-kiki-dee.html

That feud goes back to 2008 when Elton's elderly Mother made a comment that David took offense at. Elton appears to get a few feuds going.

Madonna has been considered a frenemy for years to Elton John. Perhaps she's using this to try and strengthen the bridge.

So to summarize. It was Elton John who got offended, but apparently not all that much.
