MSNBC seems to want to join RW gas bags

PoliticusUSA

MSNBC Ignores Their Viewers By Vowing To Keep Morning Joe And Move Or Cancel Liberal Shows
A major shakeup is coming to MSNBC. It is being reported that every show on the network with the exceptions of Rachel Maddow and Morning Joe is at risk of being canceled or moved.

They must be deaf. Or ignorant. Or both. They'd improve ratings by dumping that damn prison shit on Fridays and weekends. And replacing RW talking head Joe Scarborough w/ Keith Olbermann. At least they seem smart enough to keep Rachel where she is.

that all the prime time shows pretty much discuss the same things, but with different hosts. Also, some Dems actually continue to watch Joe Blow even after complaining about him (just check around DU to see what I'm getting at). But if Phil starts pulling even more LW hosts, then his network's ratings will really be low. RWers already hate that network and will never watch it in large numbers, and even most moderates and LWers get their news elsewhere. He can't honestly say that he'd be pulling/moving these hosts in the interest of higher viewership. If he really cared about more views, he would not only bring back Keith, but drop Andrea Mitchell, Chuck Todd, Joe Blow, and maybe The Cycle (though, I do like Krystal Ball).
There's one thing that I don't get, though: how is it that people are continuing to watch LockUp? LockUp has been on that channel for far longer than I would've anticipated, and they play it for hours and hours every weekend. All it does is show prisons and interview inmates. What's so entertaining about that?

I no longer even watch MSNBC, even Rachel. For just the reason you stated. I'd drop all of the current MSNBC lot. I currently get my news from either AlJazeera or LinkTV or, from right here at DU.

It's the same topics over and over. Also, I love Rachel, but the last thing I want to watch at 9 pm is another news show.

in the mornings. That's enough cable news for me. I doubt if FOX viewers will leave them anytime soon, unless they have mostly Republic0ns on MSNBC during the day.

I do wish democrats would totally give up 'morning joke'. I know my blood pressure is much better since I gave it up.

of whatever is served up as "news" on cable tv. The lot of the "networks" are at best infotainment with occasional brushes up against journalism. I have found them to be one opinion vs another opinion and never about delivering the news.

Simply turn them off and never look back.
