Sorry, Mitt, but Saturday Night Live just can't find a way to make time for you

Mitt Romney will not be appearing on Saturday Night Live this season, Lorne Michaels said today. “We only have three shows left and they’re pretty jammed-packed,” the executive producer said during a conference call. “It might be in the fall, but we’ll never know, that’ll all depend on his availability.” SNL’s 37th season wraps up May 19. It will return in September in the heat of the presidential election campaign. In early April, Michaels extended an invitation to the former Massachusetts Governor to appear on the show, and Romney expressed interest in taking SNL up on the invite. “Of course,” Romney said, “it would depend on the nature of the skit. I want it to be funny.” Today Michaels confirmed he had some “communication” with the Romney campaign about the presumptive GOP nominee coming on, but then “the primaries overtook everything.”

Personally, I'd have him practice his flip-flops on a trampoline.

flip flopping around, now that would be funny. Just got to write the sketch to go with that scenario.
