These a**holes are not "conservatives"!

Wake up, America!

These Republicans say they will balance the budget in 10 years. Does anyone truly believe that nonsense??

They want to cut every program that helps the American people, including Republicans, so they can give even more to the rich and greedy.

These folks are extremists that aim to do great harm to our nation and the world. America must come to its senses before it is too late.

There is nothing that can be done if the people refuse to see.

Cut taxes during wartime before George W.? I don't think so. Every war the US has ever waged was funded by increased taxes of some kind or another, whether a democratic or republican administration. Yet the republicans will claim with an almost straight face the increased national debt and deep recession were because taxes weren't cut enough. Or it was a delayed effect from Clinton's blow jobs, or the markets were reacting presciently to an Obama election. All equally implausible.

Though I disagreed with them on almost everything I used to at least respect some few conservatives if they had cogent arguments. And I could occasionally see both sides of an argument. But I can never respect a republican. I cannot see how any true conservative can still be a member of today's republican party. You're a conservative? Fine. And a republican? Go away you!

He was so nice, so reasonable and so right about many things. He was one of the first to say publicly that gays should be able to serve openly in the military and warned of the dangers of religious influence on the government.

He was a real conservative and I disagreed with so many of his stands, but he compromised when necessary and honestly believed there should be no barriers for any American.

Their theory is, all their tax cuts will boost the economy so effectively that it will actually increase revenue. You know, just like the Bush tax cuts did.

Actually it's just another attempt to starve the beast. With the help of the media (60 Minutes) it will be another excuse to cut Social Security and Medicare after they blow up the deficit like they have done time and again.

that they, too, will be rich someday.

They have bought and swallowed whole - that bill o' goods. PLUS, they're told that whatever they BELIEVE!!!! is true, even when it isn't. If they just BELIEVE it hard enough, it'll be true. They're home free, provided they REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY believe it's true.

I remember how reagan talked his way out of impeachment over the Iran-Contra scandal and selling arms to the Ayatolla. The simpering crap that came out of his mouth made me almost spit my hot tea all the way across the living room. Paraphrasing - "the facts say no, but my heart tells me it's true." Oh your HEART tells you it's true? So then, THAT somehow makes it true, even in the face of cold hard reality-type facts????? Oh. My. Freakin'. Sweet. God.

I was absolutely aghast at that. And of course there were NO repercussions. He got ANOTHER free pass on that one. Everybody went, "awwww... poor dear man... Well, never mind then. It's okay. It couldn't be helped. We take it all back. Here's another freebie for ya, dear darling ol' Dutch! We still love you!"

Just HIDEOUSLY disgusting. And that fucker got away with it, too. He could have, and SHOULD HAVE, been impeached. As I later read, Nancy was just petrified over the very prospect of her precious ronnie being IMPEACHED. She worked overtime, behind the scenes, trying to manipulate his way out of it.

I was very young back then and I knew Supply Side was harming Americans, I strongly opposed Apartheid, which Reagan loudly defended, of course I could easily witness the devastation of AIDS and hear the resounding silence out of Reagan for 7 full years and 30,000 American graves.
So many voted for him, then did so again, then voted for George Bush. I have a great deal of difficulty accepting such people as being anything other than stupid, malicious and greedy.

We just need to make it clear that the GOP slash and burn approach to spending does far more damage than good.

http://www.businessinsider.com/budget-deficit-lowest-under-obama-2014-10

^snip^

The US budget deficit fell to about $483 billion in fiscal year 2014, almost a $200 billion drop from the previous year and the lowest level of President Barack Obama's six years in office.

The US Treasury Department released the official figures on Wednesday, generally confirming figures released by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office last week. It's the smallest deficit recorded since 2008.

FY2014 was the fifth consecutive year the deficit declined as a percentage of GDP. It is now an estimated 2.8% of GDP, a percentage that puts it below the average of the past 40 years. The Treasury's figures chalked up the shrinking deficit to increased revenues from taxes and slowed growth in government spending.

"It's really a rise in revenues because of economic growth, because of the policies the president pursued, that we've made progress on the deficit," said Shaun Donovan, the director of the Office of Management and Budget.
