25. Nail Zimmerman

Even Zimmerman is hiding behind and desecrating religion by claiming he represents God now. I guess these assholes down to the lowest on the totem realize how gullible the American Public is now. Any murderous, wife beating thug can claim God is on his side as long as he is White. I wonder when someone is going to make an example out of a guy like Zimmerman.

3. His message pretty much says it all

Many of them are liars, will say anything for a vote, and really only care about those donating obscene amounts to them. Not very Christian like.

Ted Cruz is nothing but a charlatan. Just like all the other holy rollers.

13. Ben Franklin, referring to private hospital funding, said

"That won't work, it will never be enough, good health care costs a lot of money, remembering 'the distant parts of this province' in which 'assistance cannot be procured, but at an expense that neither [the sick-poor] nor their townships can afford.' '[This] seems essential to the true spirit of Christianity, and should be extended to all in general, whether deserving or undeserving, as far as our power reaches.'"
- Ben Franklin (One of my heroes)

These bastards, squawking against public healthcare and for Christian values and how they are just following the intent of the Founding Fathers are so full of shit.

18. It was a little different.

From "Some Account of the Pennsylvania Hospital, from its First Rise..."

"The increase of poor diseased foreigners and others, settled in the distant parts of this province, where regular advice and assistance cannot be procured, but at an expense that neither they nor their township can afford, has wakened the attention of sundry humane and well disposed minds, to procure some more certain, effectual and easy methods for their relief....a law was passed without one dissenting voice, giving two thousand pounds for building and furnishing a provincial hospital, on condition that two thousand pounds more should be raised by private donations, to be put out at interest as part of a perpetual fund for supporting it; and the contributors were made a body corporate...."

17. Has been said for centuries by various folks, humans keep on fighting the same old battles....

until The Gods have had enough, I suppose, of the witnessing the same old theater.

Bears repeating in any word iteration and by as many voices as possible, because it is irrefutable.

21. More

Someone with some power is finally saying it out loud!

We all need to say it out loud.

Christ did not ask us to help the poor.
He demanded we help the poor.
Also he said nothing about judging the poor first.
He did teach us who would do the judging, and it ain't us.

27. I am amazed that more Christians do not call these folks out. I find it ironic that the same

supporters of these tea party buffoons, are quick to criticize Muslims for not speaking out vocally when violent acts are committed in the name of Islam, however, the silence is deafening when republicans who characterize themselves as "christian", push legislation which harms the poor and less fortunate

You can't have it both ways

41. Article about Jimmy Carter in Popular Science this month

His Carter Center has nearly eliminated the guinea worm, a truly nasty parasite that enters the body as a fluke in the drinking water and emerges (either through a bodily orifice or by digging its own tunnel) as a 3 foot long worm. When he started, there were 3.5 million known cases. Today it is less than 200. It will be the second human disease in history to be expunged (following smallpox).

He is now working on river blindness, which has 25 million victims. He has already removed it from Central and South America and is now working in Africa.

Along with Habitat for Humanity and other charities, he is using his name and status to HELP PEOPLE. Name one Christian Republican with Carter's record of accomplishment.

Please. I truly hope you can.

Upscale republican Albuquerque neighborhood. Like I did when George Harrison passed. It's how I will mark time for grieving and impart the importance to my kids of the amazing patriot, statesman, intelligent and loving, christian person that is President James Earl Carter, Jr... 39th President of the United States of America ...is. He astounds me more each day.
