Mitt brings the gas to a fire of a diplomatic problem between us and China

Why is Mitt even talking about this in public? Our Sec. of State is in China right now
and this is an example for the use of the saying "Politics stops at the water's edge."

The proper response from any American leader would be to say "no comment" or defer to the State Department.

Mitt Romney: Chen Guangcheng episode 'day of shame' for Obama

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Mitt Romney condemned the Obama administration’s handling of blind Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng, calling the episode “a dark day for freedom” and “a day of shame” for President Obama if, he couched, reports are true that American officials communicated threats to Chen’s family.

At the same time Romney was speaking about the Chen story, about which there are conflicting reports, CNN was reporting that Chen told the network that he blamed a “misunderstanding” with the U.S. government for impressions that the Americans abandoned him and expressed “deep gratitude” to American officials.

This issue isn't even settled and not definitive account of what even happened. He is basing his condemnation on rumors and speculation.

Mitt's comments could make it even worse for Chen and his family. But, what do they care if something really bad happens. Just more crap to throw at Obama. They don't care about Chen, just a club to attack the president with.

At least that is what I think is going on and the last thing that our State Department
needs is for Mitt to raise the profile of this "problem."

He is is so desperately quick to fire off an attack on President Obama that he can’t wait to get his facts straight or even get any facts at all. I have long felt that Romney will self destruct before November. He’s up against a chess player and all he has is a stack of checkers.

All of a sudden this twit is spouting off about Chen Guangcheng. Really? He probably didn't even know who the hell he was until a few days ago. I know Romney has a deep sense of entitlement, but does he realize that he's actually undermining US foreign policy with his nonsensical outbursts on this issue? This proves that he's not Presidential material.

Last time I checked, Romney's 1% buddies were outsourcing US jobs to China in the name of profit...supporting China's non-Democratic government.

Romney really needs to shut his pie hole.

saying it was his idea to play tough with the Chinese and that Obama was pressured by him into resolving the controversy. And if it doesn't work out and Chen gets killed, well it happened on Obama's watch and it's his fault. It's clear at this point that Romney doesn't know what he's doing but will say whatever his handler's prepare him to say out of Rove's playbook.
