(10,044 posts)who might be interested in TV programs, something on the news, etc., and I know that only 3 or 4 people might give a damn, and even one reply is okay. I know what kinds of threads pull in a hundred replies, but that's too many to read and answer. I try to adhere to "Can't we all get along?", which is impossible with long baiting ops...

(930 posts)This is nothing new and it doesn't change the fact that Hillary works for Wall Street not Main Street. If you are comfortable with that fact then you have more in common with the republican party than you may realize.
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)the same old same old told by some people and they don't have their facts straight. Are you comfortable with the fact of repeating a talking point the RW likes to use, are you happy repeating RW talking points? Oh, BTW I have been a life long Democrat, still a Democrat and plan to be a Democrat the rest of my life and I realize I do not have things in common with the republican party.

(930 posts)Hillary is financed by Wall Street and Bill doesn't do too shabby there either. That's why she is for TPP, against any meaningful bank regulation and sides with the bankers on virtually all financial reform measures. I am comfortable with talking about how Hillary is like most republicans on economic issues.

(19,877 posts)In her address to the Democratic National Convention she stressed her support for the social programs such as Social Security and Medicare that were established during the presidencies of Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson. "We'll never accomplish what we need to do for our children if we burden them with a debt they didn't create. Franklin Roosevelt said that Americans of his generation had a rendezvous with destiny. It's time to protect the next generation by using our budget surplus to pay down the national debt, save Social Security, modernize Medicare with a prescription drug benefit, and provide targeted tax cuts to the families who need them most."
This year she stated: "Attacking financial regulations is risky and wrong. Better for congress to focus on jobs and wages".
She touted the stimulus plan.
In a fund-raising speech in San Francisco, she was highly critical of George W. Bush's tax cuts, saying that "Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." Clinton has sponsored legislation designed to reduce the deficit by reinstating some taxes that had been cut. She has co-sponsored legislation related to debt and deficit reduction

(7,830 posts)Facing a cool reception, Clinton and her advisers have used closed-door meetings with labor leaders in recent months to explain her past ties to Indian companies, donors and policies. Aides have highlighted her efforts to retrain displaced workers and to end offshore tax breaks that reward companies that outsource jobs.
But the Clinton camp has been pressed by labor leaders on her support for expanding temporary U.S. work visas that often go to Indians who get jobs in the United States, and it has been queried about the help she gave a major Indian company to gain a foothold in New York state. That company now outsources most of its work to India.
"They're obviously defensive about it," observed Lee, who has taken part in such meetings.
Clinton declined repeated requests for an interview about her views on outsourcing. Her campaign advisers, however, say she believes there are no inconsistencies in the comments she has made here and in India or in her actions as a senator.
They say she opposes legislative measures -- such as trade barriers -- to slow the loss of American jobs if they would restrain free trade. And they say she has supported the expansion of the temporary-worker visas because U.S. technology companies have repeatedly told her the visas are needed to maintain a ready workforce....

(19,877 posts)I'm open minded to all candidates, you're the one who seems to have blinders on. Seems like some here would rather lose to a Republican than win with a candidate who agrees with you 95% of the time.
Btw, unions also want KXL built.

(30,058 posts)Yes, I am very comfortable with Hillary. Do you have a candidate to whom you are comfortable? Apparently not. RW talking points has not gotten any results here.

(53,475 posts)... complains about someone being pro-war or pro-Wall Street, or pro-H1B Visas, etc.
As for my candidate of choice, I think Bernie Sanders is the cream of the crop, but don't think he could win a general election, so I'm supporting Elizabeth Warren. While Warren is a bit too hawkish for my taste, she's otherwise on the money and definately can win.
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)Yes even Bernie.

(53,475 posts)... the same as accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars for a speech though.
BTW, aren't you now echoing what you yourself called right-wing talking points?
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)Instead of "echoing" your RW talking points, give reasons to help sell your candidate. If your candidate is qualified sell their qualifications, the RW is working on their talking points, I don't have to help them.

(19,877 posts)Hillary is FOR Wall St. regulation, for cap and trade, for Kyoto protocol, for universal healthcare, for campaign finance reform, for equal pay, for gun control, etc.
