Today's CEO Like Old Slave Masters

Today's CEO's remind me of an old joke that comes from the ancient world. It is about one of the warships powered by slave oarsmen. The overseer tells the oarsmen. I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that the captain has authorized and extra portion of gruel today. They go Yea! Now for the bad news. The captain WANTS TO GO WATER SKIING! Silence.

Congratulations to all the people who defend today's CEO's and the GOP. Your pension, and your future raises just went to the CEO's golden parachute. We are now back in the age of the Robber Barons.

Today's CEOs would cut the gruel, not give extra, and would increase the work hours and intensity of work, eliminate the slaves' healthcare, and throw the slaves' children overboard if they get sick. Well, okay, I'm exaggerating--they wouldn't actually throw the children overboard; they'd just let them die on the deck.
