K&R if you agree it's time to go into campaign mode and support the Democratic Party.

I respect the differences of opinion and different ideas people have here and elsewhere, but I feel as if we are fighting a war for our very lives here. Because if the R's win, there will be dire consequences for our lives.

And just like in a real war, there comes a time to put aside a whole lot of internal conflict and just fight shoulder to shoulder in the trenches.

We can always go back to arguing after the election. But please, please man the trenches right now. Please let's stand shoulder-to-shoulder for the next half a year at least.

I may not like a lot of decisions being made. But, the other side may or may not have made those same decisions. So, it all boils down to social issues and who is better for the economy. Rmoney would destroy or economy as he sells us out to the highest bidder. On social issues the Republicans are an absolute disaster, they have killed enough people and ruined enough lives.

That means not supporting those that want to escalate war, limit gay rights, give more to the rich, support big banksters, etc.

I will not put aside anything just to vote for someone because they call themselves a Democrat.

It depends on which Democrats and which Democratic policies.

"Were parties here divided merely by a greediness for office,...to take a part with either would be unworthy of a reasonable or moral man." Thomas Jefferson to William Branch Giles, 1795.

"In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all—regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

*The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

*The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

*The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

*The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

*The right of every family to a decent home;

*The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

*The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

*The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.

America's own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for all our citizens.
--FDR, SOTU, 1944

When a politician moves TOWARD those traditional Democratic Party Values and FIGHTS FOR these values,
I will Praise them, and fight FOR them.
When a politician moves AWAY from those Traditional Democratic Party Values,
I will let them hear about it...LOUDLY.

My "Campaign Season" for the above Traditional Democratic Party Values is 24/7/365,
and has been for the 46 years since I joined the Democratic Party.

You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their excuses.

The issue is whether we are going to remain true to our Democratic principles.

In the Democratic Party, we are unlike the Republicans in that we are free to discuss issues and not march in lock-step.

President Obama is going to win this election.

If you are saying that we can no longer support closing Gitmo, if you are saying that we can no longer support free-speech without unnecessary police brutality, if you are saying that we can no longer support the prosecution of admitted war criminals, if you are saying that we cannot support an aggressive investigation of the bankers, then you are going to be disappointed.
