Adults know that problems in relationships are not usually 100% "the other guy" and that . . .
in order to identify what degree of culpability the other person DOES actually own, so that you/s/he can authentically deal with it, one needs to begin by separating out and identifying one's own level of fault/error.
May I suggest that the hate Obama crowd begin with examining their own demands that the President of us ALL do precisely what THEY exclusively want on their blindered single-issue(s) - that he do it perfectly to their exclusive specifications - and - that he do it FOR NOTHING, in return, OR ELSE!
No matter how much you might wish things were different, this IS politics and President Obama is damned if he does and he's damned if he doesn't with some people and that's the SUM & TOTAL of their own coalition-building and the President knows it.
Would you invite such people to your deals, where they could hurt not only you, but much MUCH WORSE, hurt your friends and associates at a crucial time of their own vulnerability too?
No. you. would. not!
And before you jump my shit about this post, recognize that what I am saying is NOT about your ISSUES, but about the absolutely static zero-sum manner in which you pursue them, which, to some of us who might support you otherwise, looks an awful LOT like INTENDED FAILURE on the purported issue, perhaps in favor of other (intentionally or otherwise) hidden issues. IOW, "Meet the 'new' boss. SAME as the old boss."

FDR compromised... but he fought like hell and America turned around quickly and strongly. That works for me.

(24,096 posts)you believe one man can fix it all. I don't think any rational person expected that, but rational people still believe a path must be made for further achievements and the best way to do that, is to do that and lots has been done. Thanks to the good and hard work Obama and his people and his many supporters that are out there doing the hard work instead of punching keys complaining, the next Democratic President will have a set better path to walk further on.

(34,589 posts)that Obama pushed into law, as an example? What did we get for that (besides the future loss of hundreds of thousands of US lives)?
He can't do it by himself, but he needs to fight and get his hands dirty.

(24,096 posts)equating Obama to Bush, assuming all Free Trade is Bad (go talk to Clinton about that) and if it's bad for american workers Obama will 'push' it into law.

(34,589 posts)Did Democrats not originally rejct them - then agree to them based on Obama's prodding? Do all unbiased estimates not show that they will destroy hundreds of thousands of US jobs?
Facts.

(27,461 posts)I've never heard as many excuses for a politician than I have in the past 3 years. People have criticisms, it's not a "hate Obama crowd".

(14,400 posts)there's plenty of hate Obama around here. Just because it's extensively whined about and pretended as criticism doesn't make the shit smell any less like shit.

"- and - that he do it FOR NOTHING, in return, OR ELSE! "
He was rewarded, in full, up front. That reward was his election to the highest office in this land - to the most powerful position in the WORLD. He was given this advance, in good faith, with the expectation that he would keep his expressed and implied promises.
... out of the park with that reply.

(34,825 posts)the job i elected him to do. should i give him more money? why the fuck would i vote for someone who wouldn't do what's right because i didn't give him something in return? what a ridiculous position to take up. good luck with that.
moreover, that "president of everybody" shit is straight out the freeper handbook. they used that all the time when bush was in office.
