Iran has all the climate-zones: From desert in the South, to moderate in the middle (e.g. Teheran), to snowy mountains in the North (the Caucasus-mountains).

Young Iranians do have smartphones, they do love dancing and clubbing, and they do care about fashion.
(From a report I saw recently, I guess that the overall standard of living is something like the year 2000 or so, with exceptions of course if you have the money.)

What else?
Be careful with iranian sweets: They are SWEET. Try some salted plums to balance that. (The taste is weird: Fruity, sour and salty, but addictive.)

6. The Iranian people have a long-standing love affair

with America and its pop culture. Why I do not know, but they are people like people anywhere: many good and decent with a few loudmouthed, dogmatic assholes, many of whom happen to be in the government. Kinda like us, come to think of it.
