Co-workers: IU Health nurse fired for advocating union (INDIANAPOLIS, IN if you get my drift)

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana University Health nurses are still fighting to unionize after they say one of their own was fired for doing just that.

Last weekend, the Indianapolis Business Journal published IU-Health registered nurse Lacie Little's comments on unionizing, along with the comments of her co-worker and supporter registered nurse (RN) Heather Bragg.

They, along with dozens of other RNs, say they need working conditions to improve: That includes re-visiting a new attendance policy that results in a write-up for hourly employees with more than two unscheduled absences, and a firing for those who exceed five.

The nurses said the new policy resulted in a marked increase in RNs coming in to care for patients when they are ill themselves.

FULL story and video at link.
