Governor Romney's Job Growth Record -- Worse than Obama and Carter's

Mitt Romney's sole claim to the presidency is that his business experience will enable him to accelerate job growth in America.

The GOP debates revealed that Romney was a failure as governor, with Massachusetts 47th in the nation in job growth, and only one of the four states that did not recover to pre-2001 recession job levels before the Bush/Cheney economic collapse hit.

But, let us talk less about rankings, and more about actual jobs.

What is that story? Again, for Romney it is dismal.

During Romney's four years as Governor of Massachusetts, he added 61,000 new jobs. At the time, Massachusetts had 2.5 percent of the nation's population. Thus, extrapolated to the nation as a whole, Romney would have added 2.4 million jobs.

In four years.

But the GOP and their liberal media will not tell that story.

.... it's going to come down to a charismatic Obama vs a really uptiight jerk who is almost as prone to verbal faux pas as Bush II was.

And llet's not forget the utter desperation and the very poor way Romney and most Repugs are handling it. They just cannot stand the very idea of a black man winning a second term! It makes them crazy and they say crazy things.

This is going to be fun!

"Worse than Obama and Carter's"

...is the point of calling out Carter's job creation?

Under Carter, more than 10 million jobs were created (and that's in one term). That's about 5 million jobs more than both Bushes combined. That's 2 million more than Reagan's average. By comparison, Reagan only created 5 million jobs in his first term. In fact, during the Clinton years, there were more jobs created (23 million, two terms) than Reagan (16 million in two terms) and both Bushes (5.5 million across three terms), combined. In terms of average job creation, Carter is third, behind Clinton and Reagan's second term.

It's pretty much aiding and abetting the right-wing canard that Mitt Romney is allowed to continually get away with and never be called on:

"This president has lost more jobs than any in the past 50 years".

FALSE. The first six months of President Obama's term, where most of the job losses occurred, do not count in this stat since not a DAMNED ONE of his economic policies went into effect until after that fact. All of those job losses during the first year are completely on the shoulders of the craptastic Bewsh Administration's economic policies. This is a dishonest false trail that a five year old could cut through and the media continually allows RMoney to get away with this lie over and over again.
