Right now, HRC is our best bet for keeping the White House. If there's another Democratic candidate who can win, then by all means...let them step forward. Competition is healthy in a democracy.

(12,081 posts)Presidential candidate that was a 1%er if they would fight for economic equality. But Hillary is not that person. She will not stand up to the banks and she will not fight for labor so she will not get my vote.

(11,417 posts)If she is the candidate you don't matter in the 2016 election because you've taken yourself out of the game. So why not just quit with the "I am not going to vote for Hillary" stuff? It really is a waste of time! We need to beat the right and you aren't interested in helping us.

(6,960 posts)If Mrs. Clinton had retired from politics there would be at least half-a-dozen, good, strong, dynamic, progressive candidates for the nomination that would win in November 2016.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown
U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar
Gov. Hickenlooper
U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren
U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders
Gov. O'Malley
Gov. Schweitzer
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro
There are plenty of new faces that could really excite the party base.

I know you young folks are always in a big hurry, but she won't be the nominee until next summer, regardless.

I don't believe Hillary is the ONLY. I'm sorry. And I really don't want to see a Clinton/Bush redux. Again, sorry.
You like her. I don't. I don't think Hillary is our best shot. Again, sorry.
It is as simple as that. Enjoy campaigning, but stop the freaking bogeyman stuff already. It's goofy as hell, and it certainly won't make me a believer in something I don't believe in overnight.

The Vanderbilts, Gettys and others from years gone buy did a lot of good. It is the new rich that only benefit themselves or that create the legal systems that only benefit the greedy.

(363 posts)Hillarys message its a woman's turn and I am a woman along with the demographics of 100,000 minority kids turning voting age every month should do it. If democratic party spends the money to register them and they have id's! This beats republican message of we are the party of angry old white men mostly rich who want to get richer at the poors expense. Reagan used to call himself reaganhood he steals from the poor to give to the rich. Sort of robin hood in reverse!

(2,941 posts)because we aren't so stupid as to accept bullshit false choice pronouncements like yours as inevitable.
Hillary has been stuffed full of Wall Street money, she's still like a pinata ready to explode with sugary treats that will end up making us all sick in the end.
I don't want Hillary in the White House - a triangulating, unprincipled, privileged, overrated, opportunistic, self-serving ego maniac who believes she is the heir apparent.
There will be challengers. They just haven't been selling off bits and pieces of their souls and the Democratic Party to Goldman Sachs for the last 7 years like Hillary has.
Christ, we can't even trust her with email and to keep her private business separate from her public obligations.
Jesus, what a sad uninspired choice that the conservadems at DNC are jamming down our throats.

We're never going to have an FDR style Democrat again. Hell, I'd take Nixon over any mainstream Denocratic candidate. Tbe Democrats are now Reaganists, the Republicans are insane.

A vote for the Republicans is a vote for more war, and less equal rights.

(7,596 posts)...then that sure as shit doesn't say much about the state of the Democratic party.
If a 67-year-old blue dog who's been around FOREVER is our only viable candidate, then something went horribly fucking wrong with the party in the last 20+ years. Just WOW.
