(17,997 posts)But a red arrow pointing right was not a mistake. I don't give a flying f#$ k what the logo is when it comes to who I vote for. But to ignore the reach to the right would be ridiculous.
The logo makes a statement that is exactly what she is doing. And this right is way too wrong to reach out to
But I do hate wearing socks

(17,997 posts)That the logo wasn't made precisely to indicate what it does. I don't like Hillary but I know she is one smart cookie.
Love you too, K.

Don't get me wrong. As I said, I don't care what a logo looks like. It isn't going to influence my vote one way or another for anyone. I responded to a post, that is not a serious issue, from someone I respect. I just don't believe that this logo wasn't discussed and tested up the wazoo. It's being interpreted the way it is because that is what it is meant to say. It's what Hillary Clinton has said for a long time, reaching across the isle, compromise, etc.

(7,318 posts)I have. And I've seen both well managed and poorly managed campaigns. The decisions the team makes, in totale, CAN make or break a candidacy. The logo decision by itself didn't, as you said, "doom" her candidacy (I voted "no" in your poll by the way, if you check) That's ridiculous hyperbole. But the logo was poorly executed and has caused a distraction right out of the starting gate...NOT GOOD!

(37,748 posts)Some may see a wide range difference between "extremely important" and don't matter." Though it may take an adult mind possessing a rational insight to see the difference... so I can readily empathize with the youthful, still-developing and sophomoric mind which is limited to two extremes. Bless their little hearts.

(27,835 posts)... than a campaign logo - and that's the importance of psychoanalyzing that logo to death.
It tells you everything you need to know about a candidate - if you just know where to look.
It's a cross between a Captain Midnight decoder ring and a Winky-Dink screen - or like a 'fifties 3-D movie that you can't really see unless you're wearing, um, "special glasses".
As it's turning out, however, that logo seems to actually be the ultimate DU Rorschach test.

(27,835 posts)Really?
That smiling emoticon says the opposite. It says you were happy I was gone - in fact, it says you couldn't be happier.
And you can't miss the fact that that emoticon's smile tilts to the right - the right! - and if you flip it upside-down, it's actually frowning - and that's because it's actually a Wall Street-lovin' 1%er, just like HRC.
I have learned a LOT today about how seemingly innocent symbols - like emoticons and campaign logos - can actually convey secret messages - to those who are astute enough to recognize them.
You'd better wake up, KMOD, and start reading the tea-leaves. Hillary probably lost 2016 for us with the unveiling of that logo. But THAT was her diabolical plan all along - wasn't it?

(46,179 posts)It's a corporate marketing tool, and its existence turns me off because I don't want my government or my elected officials to be corporate tools.
The logo that HRC unveiled is not just a corporate tool, it has a red arrow pointing to the right; a symbol of exactly what I don't want.

(36,063 posts)I say possibly, because 'who knows', how this was approved within the campaign
The vetting team clearly wasn't well connected to the way Americans in general and the entire range of the democratic base would respond to such a symbol. Or they knew and didn't care.
I would suggest if such casual disconnectedness is systemically present within Team Hillary there are going to be problems with pushing the populist message she's trying to initiate.
The image of her campaign is one wherein she's surrounded by battalions of advisers on all topics. If it's not a problem with being disconnected or not caring to be connected, are the advisers no good? Was their advice ignored?
Just when you think that months, perhaps years of preparation would insure a smooth roll-out for the decades long pursuit of the office, once again it's another piddly detail that was overlooked or disregarded.
