The cynical hypocrisy of the Koch brothers

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/05/03/koch-gives-35-million-to-smithsonian-natural-history-museum/

Koch Gives $35 Million to Smithsonian Natural History Museum

The billionaire industrialist and philanthropist David H. Koch has donated a whopping $35 million to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington for a complete overhaul of the museum’s dinosaur hall....

In 2009 he gave the Smithsonian $15 million to create the museum’s Hall of Human Origins. And in 2006 he gave the Manhattan museum $20 million to create the David H. Koch Dinosaur Wing.

These rich bastards who fund the Tea Party and the people who are at war with science. The people who want creationism taught in school and deny Global Climate Change, are funding two of the most prestigious science institution in the country, specifically areas dealing with evolution. Because;

“My first trip to New York was with my father and twin brother and what made the most impact was our visit to the American Museum of Natural History,” Mr. Koch said in a statement. “When I saw those dinosaurs I was blown away and just fascinated by their enormity. This was in my sweet spot and it is such a thrill that it is almost a gift for me.”

They knowingly fund the people who attack that which they think is important.

The Kochs no more believe the anti-science message than they are fundamentalist Christians. They just don't see the need of peons to know science.

they are not at war with science, but they fund the Tea Party, that is at war with science.
Hence the cynical hypocrisy. They fund the attack on one hand and then give millions to support it.
