The theory has it that the battle between Barack and Hillary never quite healed fully.
Yet it is far rarer to hear that on-line these days.
I found it rare HERE to have it expressed so honestly, but at work... taverns... people I chat with...
It's a lot more pronounced.
Some are still pissed about 2008...
Some "forgave" that, yet think "it's now her turn"...
Some couldn't give a rat's ass...
Some think she really has evolved into a new person...
Some think the whole exercise is BS...
I'm sure I've forgotten a few... please add on/comment/whatever...
We've got a year and several months to figure it out.

Yet it has that same wierd feeling to me, as it did in 2008.

(4,482 posts)Some of Hillary's PA supporters were not very nice to us Obama supporters. I'll PM you the details.
I won't vote for her in the primary or give money or my time.

(51,907 posts)Obama was better on the Iraq war, and Clinton was better on health care. I chose to back Obama because of his vastly superior campaign organization. He knew how to use social media to generate self-starting local campaign organizations and hired actual organizers, while Clinton wasted huge sums on bullshitting consultants and focus groups and was not able to handle internal campaign conflicts. She campaigned as if it were still 1996.
Meanwhile, Clinton probably learned things from her experience. Also, some of the people who worked with Obama are now working with Clinton. That makes for a better possible outcome next year. She's still tone-deaf and knows little about the lives of the 99%, but she could work on that. She may get more aggressively populist on the campaign trail, which may or may not translate into effective policy.
Overall, Obama's tendency to seek common ground with everyone works very well in the area of foreign policy, but is unhelpful when dealing with the sociopaths that Republicans have become. Clinton would have dealt more effectively with Republicans, but would have been far more militaristic in foreign affairs.

(62,325 posts)and of course, the Iraq War. I also thought he was better on Civil Liberties, Torture and I liked what he said about the US always going to 'save' other countries. Airc, he didn't believe we should be the world's policemen.
He was good on setting up committees also, Hillary often said when asked 'what would you do about (fill in the blank) that she would set up as committee to 'explore all options'. Obama stated that he would not do that, as he considered Committees to be an 'end run' around the Constsitution.
And on the Iraq War, Hillary was unable to explain why she supported it, she hedged and dodged but never actually apologized for it.
I still think Obama is often pushed into some of these Foreign Interventions, such as Libya and Syria, and wonder if any president can fight the war mongers who seem to have to control of these issues. So I am glad he is president right now. I think Hillary would not have dealt with Iran the way he has.

I don't think we'll see anything like that this time.
I think most Obama supporters are over it because our guy won the primaries and both elections
I certainly wouldn't want to see a Republican take office and kill the CFPB or gut Obamacare.
I'll vote for the Dem nominee. If that's Hillary, then it's Hillary.
