We're #1!! Kansas lawmakers rank farthest to right in study of U.S. House votes

The most conservative congressional delegation in America?

Take a bow, Kansas.

It isn’t even close.

Less than two years after Republicans rode a tea-party wave to retake the House of Representatives, a widely quoted survey shows the four-member Kansas delegation — Kevin Yoder, Lynn Jenkins, Mike Pompeo and Tim Huelskamp — has voted far more consistently conservative than any House delegation in the nation.

Meet the Kansas delegation:

Kevin Yoder - a young whipper snapper who used to be a Democrat but moved to the right and used tea party support to get elected.

Lynn Jenkins - a compassionate conservative who laughed at a constituent who came to her town hall to ask where she could find affordable health care.

Mike Pompeo - a bigot who referred to his Indian American opponent as a 'towel head' but of course, won his election anyway.

Tim Huelskamp - a conservative who has done absolutely nothing while serving in Congress.

Jenkins (my representative) seems likely headed to a slightly less Republican leaning district so maybe her re-election won't be entirely assured either.

The Democratic party in KS is in shambles.

I saw Joan Wagnon, state party chair, at the women's march last weekend. It was all I could do to keep from walking up to her and asking her where our candidates are.

I keep telling her that her party is leaving her behind and she might as well become Democratic. She just smiles.

She hates Sarah Palin with a fury and has several of our Palin Jokes on her phone.

I tell her she really isn't a repuke!

My students have paged for her the last 4 years. She made sure they had a great time.

They are just losing to the far right time after time. Meanwhile, the Democrats just sit with their thumbs up their *****, not even recruiting candidates. I'm honestly angrier at the Democrats than the tea party.

As a former resident, this makes me sad.

I remember the day when Dan Glickman lost his House seat. We kinda knew that something had changed in KS politics. We were correct.
