an anecdotal observation of how the world is changing, and how quickly:

went to the mall today for the first time in probably a year. a small, older one. since I was last at that mall, the Borders and the FYE closed. so, there's basically no place to buy books or music there...i dunno, doesn't seem like a good thing to me...

Our local Borders store is now something called "Books-a-Million," a fundamentalist-right-wing operation, with the sort of book selection you'd expect in such a place. I confess I went in there a couple of times, just for a trash mystery novel, but pretty much stay out on principle.
