My Western Dental experience today ( A warning to all who may go there)

Dear corporate Masters ,

While I'm not a millionaire so in your eyes the treatment I and my son just received is all about the profit that your CEO's make and not about my Smile at all. My son had a first time patient appointment at 11:45 am today I just got home after 4 hrs of sitting at your concord location. I dropped a complaint in the box there at the office too. This was my first experience with FAST food Dentistry. I feel as though I have been brutalized by your overbooking system. So while I was waiting in the waiting room my son was waiting in the dentists chair for over an hr w/o being seen. It wasn't until I asked how long this was going to take for the dentist to see him and even then My son said they kept walking away to see other patients. If you guys aren't going to be ready when appointments are scheduled Why are they scheduled at that time? (oh yeah your profit motive outweighs the importance of your patients time and smile) Because of an 11:45am appointment My son and myself haven't eaten since 8:00 am this morning and it's 4pm now.

How dare you think you can treat the American working class tax payers this way. And the poor people who work there. I really feel sorry for them day in and day out listening to Irate people like myself . Your Corporate over Schelduling left me feeling Valueless and brutalized.

We will not be returning to a place where everyone who works is stressed. Perhaps your CEO should visit an office someday and listen to the people who work harder than He everyday. He won't , I'm sure he's too busy at one of his vacation homes somewhere. He probably PAYS LESS taxes than the average customer too.

I will Tell my over 700 friends on Facebook my experience, I plan on Creating a anti western Dental page too. As a paying customer I deserve to be treated as if my time matters to you. I work with disable children I know my value. Repeat Customers obviously don't know their Value.

"thank you for calling western dental how can I make you smile today?" HA!

My sincerest Regards,

Besides their very uneven and lower quality dental services they also run a credit scam where they get people to sign up for low or no interest plans that then balloon later on.

One of the benefit packages I consult on is dental care.

For those in California and Washington State I strongly recommend Dental Health Services. They have excellent plans are service not profit oriented. The founder and his son are very progressive Democrats. When they decided to retire they sold the business to the employees and the employees know that they can only survive be having better service.

For other states Delta Dental is an ethical alternative. PPO's general are over priced and a good HMO will save you a lot of money and you will be able to find many good dentists on any panel, you just want a plan where you get to select the dentist on the panel.

Sorry about Western Dental.

I'm disgusted but will take this as a lesson learned .

In the plan we provide to Federal Employees (for comparison) there is no copay for ordinary stuff and a root canal (for comparison) copay is $55.

Better and cheaper to have a dental savings account at a credit union and pay the "cash discount" price for dental work.

And the copays in their group plans are much lower than 'cash' discounts and are even lower than Mexican providers.

For employees under one of those plans, it's simply an employment benefit that reduces choice.

I worked at non profits childcare centers all my career up until I had my son. after staying home a couple years w/ him I went back to work as a preschool teacher at a chain preschool called La Petiete .. I worked there about a yr and always referred to it as fast food daycare. To me it represents offering the cheapest service possible. At la petiete I spent my own money on paper so the kids could draw and paint because there was none available there.

Never looked back , I've worked for a school district serving the disabled 3-5 yr olds of my community for just over 7 yrs . I love it.

She is a one-woman show and is a gem. She specializes in seeing kids with special needs and will take as much time as needed to make their visit as relaxed and pain-free as possible. For kids who needed sedation and whose insurance would not cover it, she had a local anesthesiologist who volunteered and provided services free of charge one or two days a month.

I originally took only my youngest child who has autism to her, but my son liked her so much that he started seeing her as well. She is very conservative in treatment and when we have needed specialists (orthodontists and oral surgeon for wisdom teeth extraction) she has recommended people who have been great.

Ask around and find another dentist if possible. There is NO excuse for such crappy treatment.
