What In The?!?! People Threw Bottles At Black Students From Fraternity Roof (DETAILS)

With references to Trayvon Martin, a group of people on the roof of the Sigma Pi fraternity house at Cornell University reportedly threw bottles and other objects at black students who were walking by the house early Sunday morning, according to several accounts.

Sigma Pi President Zach Smith said in an email Sunday afternoon that the fraternity has "figured out who the perpetrator was, and will turn his name over to police."

<snip>

When they asked them to stop again, the group responded, “‘Come up here, Trayvon,’ and started making all these other racial comments,” Fonkwo said.

“I feel like it was targeted and racially motivated … we felt very threatened,” Fonkwo said of the incident Sunday. Meanwhile, the assailants “were just laughing at the whole situation until we called the police and then they ran inside,” she said.

Just another example of rich white kids with to much spare time and parents who are worthless.

A couple of the frat boys will get kicked out of school and they then will blame all the bad stuff that follows in their lives on a bunch of "thin-skinned {Black students}" and the "Political Correct" school that cannot take a joke.

We had a fraternity (The Order of Kappa Alpha-Sons of the South) that did the whole confederate flag, lawn jockey and an annual antebellum ball thing.

They just couldn't understand why they were looked down upon by the students of color.

is unlikely to be punished unless the participants were of the chapter's leadership.

But expulsion is not enough ... those participants should be criminally charged.

I hope they identify and prosecute the perpetrators to the fullest extent.

It's amazing how chapters of the same organization can differ from location to location. I was definitely anti-fraternity when I entered college, but once I saw how diverse (with regards to race and sexual orientation) and generally progressive our chapter was my mind was changed. It didn't hurt either that I saved about $400 month in living expenses by joining versus living in a dorm or apartment.

I am frequently disappointed by the conduct of some of my Fraternity Brothers; but I am enheartened that the majority are getting the message that the Fraternity is bigger than them and stupidity will not be tolerated by the organization or individual brothers.

My son goes to an Ivy League college, and the kids are incredibly liberal and progressive. I don't know, maybe Cornell is different, but I would bet that most of the kids at this college are going to be very upset about this. A few bad apples have ruined their reputation. A shame.
