Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told the Wall Street Journal on Monday that if he chooses to run for President, "pro-Israel funding" may cause him to assemble "the first all-Jewish cabinet" in America.
"If I put together a finance team that will make me financially competitive enough to stay in this thing
I may have the first all-Jewish cabinet in America because of the pro-Israel funding," Graham reportedly said, chuckling.
"Bottom line is, Ive got a lot of support from the pro-Israel funding," he added.
The New York Times reported earlier this month on a recent surge of pro-Israel donations within the GOP, while in January Gallup reported on evidence that Jewish voters are turning toward the Republican Party.

(5,043 posts)As my mother liked to say after a Sisterhood event or Temple Board meeting, "Jewish Organization is an oxymoron!"
And anyone simple minded enough to mistake support for the concept of Israel with support for the current administration or their policies is in for a rude awakening.

(53,987 posts)Graham is mistaken if he thinks he would ever get away with having all Jews on a cabinet. The anti-Semitism that courses though the right would never allow it any more than it would be allowed on the left for the same reason. He is also mistaken to conflate pro-Israel support with garnering votes from the Jewish community, but like his finance comment, it is another example of the "soft anti-Semitism" oh so popular among way too many; much like the inclusion of the Gallup poll. It is articles like this that perpetuate anti-Semitic myths.
