(36,693 posts)to lead this country that feels this country is not worth a little more money out of their pocket, if they have it??
He sounds very un-American.
He is asking for a tax-payer income.
If I made $21 million a year I would not mind paying a top rate of 70%, can Willard say the same thing??
ADD: Willard is just a very, very selfish person and has no clue about people that did not win the sperm and egg lottery
My objection to Romney isn't that he's rich but that someone who earns more in a day than most people do in a year simply cannot understand what it's like to live--repeating for emphasis because it's so incredible--for an entire year on less than what he makes in a day. It's not a failing--very few of us could wholly understand what life is like either for someone as rich as Romney or for a ragpicker in India, because while we can imagine their experiences, we haven't lived their actual lives.
I'm not saying he's an unsympathetic jerk simply because he's rich (although being unsympathetic to workers does, in fact, happen to be how he got that way). But his complete lack of experience as a regular person and a lack of understanding about what most people's lives are like would simply make him a very, very bad president.
